I did put a new battery from, but best I can remember it is an original Apple battery. I am very grateful for any advice and tips you can share before I get cracking. If I do a wipe, I would also like to partition the HD so that I can dual boot to Windows (there is one simple program I need that runs only on Windows. Is it possible to install a bare-bones version without ex. I guess downloading OSX inhaler onto a USB drive and booting is simple. To achieve this I am happy to format the HD and reinstall the OS. I can’t afford a new mac at the moment so I need her to hold out just another year or so… No major events/installs/updates have happened, and the hard drive is only half full. Individual apps freeze up (especially Excel 2019 without any significant graphics or formulas/macros), web pages are not snappy or responsive, cursor is lagging, Dock hangs, Expose hangs… often I get the color wheel… Still, the computer has become ever more slow lately. Oh, I also use the address book from time to time :-). All I use is a browser, Excel, Word, and Calendar, and the scanning unity. She is getting up there in years but my requirements have become less severe in the last years. I am running a MB Air version from 2013 (see detailed specs below). I think things have changed a lot and my knowledge of all things Mac gone downhill steeply.īut here I am, looking for some advice for my current problem.
